As you likely know, you just can’t get Aero glass in Windows 10 by installing a theme/visual style. You need to first enable Aero glass transparency by downloading and installing Aero glass for Windows 10 software. Note that you need to manually change the start orb, if you want to use the Windows 7-style start orb. Installing Windows 7 Aero theme for Windows 10

If you’re not sure how to download and install the theme, here is how to do it.

Step 1: First enable Aero glass transparency in Windows 10 by downloading and installing Aero Glass for Windows 10 software. It’s worth noting that the Aero Glass for Windows 10 is not completely free.

Step 2: Once Aero is enabled and working, download and run UXStyle for Windows 10. This is because, with default settings, Windows doesn’t allow installing third-party themes. We need to install UXStyle software to be able to install and apply third-party themes in Windows.

Step 3: Download Windows 7 Aero glass theme for Windows 10 by visiting this page. The theme supports both 32 and 64-bit Windows 10 systems.

Extract the RAR file to get a folder named 7 Aero theme for Windows 10. Open up the folder to see two more folder titled Theme and Start orb.

Step 4: Open the Themes folder located in the Windows directly of Windows 10. To do so, open Run command box, type %windir%ResourcesThemes and then press Enter key.

Step 5: Copy all the files from Theme folder (that you obtained in Step 3 after extracting the downloaded file) to Themes folder of Windows 10.

Transform Windows 7 into Windows 10

Once you have all the required software, we can proceed to install the Windows 10 theme in Windows 7. To start, open the downloaded Universal Theme Patcher zip file and execute the application depending on your system architecture.

Once the application has been opened, it will tell you that you need to patch some files. Click on the “Yes” button to continue.

The above action will take you to the patch screen. Just click on the “Patch” button next to all the files.

This is how it looks like once patched. The good thing is, you can always restore the original file by clicking on the “Restore” button. After patching the files, restart your system.

Now, open the Theme Resource Changer zip file and depending on your system architecture, execute the application in it.

Once opened, install it like any other software.

After installing the theme resource changer, restart your system to make the changes take effect.

Now, we can proceed to install the Windows 10 theme for Windows 7. To do that, extract the downloaded Windows 10 theme for Windows 7 zip file onto your desktop. After extracting, open the folder and execute the “RunMeFirst.cmd” File.

Even though the windows and taskbar look more like Windows 10, there is still the blur effect around the windows. To remove it, open the downloaded Windows 7 Aero Blur Tweaker file, and execute the application in it.

Once the Windows 7 Aero Blur Tweaker has been opened, click on the option “Hide Blur.”

If you want the start menu and taskbar transparency, then install the downloaded Taskbar Transizer.

You’ve successfully installed the Windows 10 theme. Of course, this doesn’t look exactly like Windows 10, and it is pretty basic.

If you want to further customize it, just open the file “Windows_10_Extras.7z” folder from the downloaded Windows 10 theme.

This file contains all the other additional software and settings that can be used to customize the Boot Screen, Fonts, Logon Screen, etc. The good thing is each folder has detailed instructions on how to install all the software and DLL files in those folders. Just follow the instructions.
